Professional services are rendered and charged to you the patient and not the insurance company. Your insurance will not normally pay the total of your charges: therefore, you are responsible for your account. Your insurance is a contract between you and the insurance company, not between our office and the insurance company. Commercial claims are filed for you as a courtesy of our office.
If we are able to accept assignment from your insurance company, we will ask a 40% deposit at the time of surgery. Any overpayments will be promptly refunded. In the event there is a balance after insurance pays, it is the patients responsibility and payable in full at that time.
We currently participate with Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Carolina Dental, Cigna, Delta Dental, Metlife, and Assurant.
Even though an insurance claim if filed, you will receive a statement each month If your account has a balance due. If the insurance is still pending, the balance due on the statement will show as a zero until insurance has paid at which time the balance has become the responsibility of the patient and the amount due will show in full. At any time during the insurance process, we will be more than happy to assist you with your claim or questions concerning your insurance.
